Are you interested in having a humanist wedding in Jersey or Guernsey, or maybe one of the smaller islands, such as Herm, Sark, Lihou?
Did you know that humanist weddings are likely to soon gain legal recognition in Jersey, and they may be soon to gain legal recognition in Guernsey too?
A law was passed on the 1st February this year (2018) that has given legal recognition to both humanist and same sex weddings. Hopefully, humanist celebrants, that have been accredited by Humanists UK, like myself, will be able to conduct humanist weddings that are legally binding in Jersey.
This is a really exciting opportunity for the Channel Islands to become a destination for couples who wish to have their weddings in sensationally beautiful surroundings, perhaps on a beach, or in a location with a stunning sea view, or in one of the historic places, like the forts or castles.
Having lived on Guernsey for a long time, I regularly travel there and I’m very happy to be considered to write and conduct weddings anywhere in the Channel Islands.
Currently, the only accredited and experienced humanist celebrant who is resident in the Channel Islands is Gary Vaudin, who was my mentor. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
So far I’ve been fortunate to conduct weddings on Herm, Castle Cornet, in the gardens of the 5* Bella Luce hotel, and at St James (in Guernsey) and so on.
We can hold creative consultations via Skype/Facetime/WhatsApp, and I’m happy to meet when I’m over in the Channel Islands, or if you’re ever flying into Gatwick (I live 15 minutes from Gatwick Airport).
Please do contact me for more information and reasonable prices.
